David Spencer is a graduate of the National Theatre Drama School and the University of Sydney. He has been involved in all facets of the performing arts, but more recently as a performer and director.
As an assistant and resident director David has worked on productions including Into the Woods (Stuart Maunder / Vic Opera), Anything Goes (Dean Bryant/ GFO/ Opera Australia), Funny Girl and Jesus Christ Superstar (Gale Edwards/ The Production Company), and Priscilla Queen of the Desert the Musical (Simon Phillips/ Michael Cassel Group and RGM).
He has performed in numerous musicals including Fiddler on the Roof, Eureka, Mame, The Pajama Game, The Producers, Pippin, [title of show], Flowerchildren – the story of the Mamas and the Papas, Mary Poppins and Priscilla Queen of the Desert (understudy to Tony Sheldon). He has also worked in the UK where he performed in Chicago, Copacabana, Carousel and Lust.
On television he has appeared on Neighbours, MDA and Winners and Losers. He has also worked nationally on television and radio as a health advisor.
David was a founding member of the Equity Wellness Committee and remains a proud member of MEAA.
